A Quick Announcement

Current Events

On Monday, March 26th, I became an employee of Pentel of America.

This comes after a long and exhausting job hunt that I have been on for some time now. And, while the commute is less than ideal, I am looking forward to the future with optimism and excitement. Plus, there are multiple cabinets right around the corner from my desk which are literally filled will all manner of gel pens, rollerballs, and everything else a pen addict could want. I mean… things I need… for work.

Anyways, in the interest of transparency and to avoid any potential conflicts, I will not be posting any reviews for Pentel products. I may post on my social channels from time to time when something really cool lands on my desk, but I’d rather not cross those streams on the blog. This is all uncharted territory for me, so I think it’s best to err on the side of caution.

Additionally, though I do not have anything currently on deck, I’m sure I will be reviewing products in the future that would be considered competitors for Pentel. (Just because I got a new job doesn’t mean the Signo isn’t a spectacular instrument.) In those cases, I’m confident that I will be able to maintain objectivity while discussing the product, but I will also have clear disclaimers listed with the reviews.

In Other News

While I’m adjusting to my new schedule and trying to absorb as much information as I can, my post schedule has been interrupted. Things should level out soon, so here is a look at what is coming up on the blog.

Paper Reviews:

  • Apica A5 & A6 notebooks
  • Maruman Mnemosyne A5 notebook
  • Elemental Notebooks (As seen on Kickstarter)(Once the project ships)

Pen Reviews:

  • Twsbi Eco-T Yellowgreen
  • Franklin-Christoph Model 03 (Treated myself at the LA Pen Show)
  • Ensso XS Pocket Fountain Pen (As seen on Kickstarter)(Once the project ships)

  • Baron Fig Mastermind Mini pad
  • Nock, Co. Seed A5
  • Nock, Co. Dot-Dash Note Cards

Well, now that I have all that listed out in one place, I better start writing before I accidentally add all the numbers up. Honestly, it’s just better that way.
